A572Gr50 Steel Plate is one kind of high strength low alloy 'Nb-V' structural steel plate with high strength, which is widely used in engineering structures, such as construction steel structure, construction machinery, mining machinery, heavy trucks, bridges, pressure vessels, etc., especially for construction and engineering machinery parts that requiring good weldability and toughness for materials.Besides, A572Gr50 ASTM A572 / A572M - 21e1 Standard Specification for High A514/A514M Specification for High-Yield-Strength, Quenched and Tempered Alloy Steel Plate, Suitable for Welding. A588/A588M Specification for High-Strength Low-Alloy Structural Steel, up to 50 ksi [345 MPa] Minimum Yield Point, with Atmospheric Corrosion Resistance. ASTM A572 / A572M-21e1,
Sep 20, 2016 · A572 Gr.50 materialis Columbium-Vanadium Steel and is used whenever a cost savings from a weight reduction can be gained. It has a higher yield and tensile strength compared to ASTM A36. ASTM A572 Gr.50 HSLA steel is weldable, formable, and machinable when using appropriate techniques. ASTM A572 is also available in grades 42, 55, 60 and 65. ASTM A572 Grade 50 High Tensile Low alloy steel - JOIN Grade 50 is a Columbium-Vanadium steel that offers a minimum yield of 50,000 PSI. In addition, ASTM A572 Grade 50 is noted for its increased resistance to atmospheric corrosion. Grade 50 contains more alloying elements than plain carbon steel and thus is somewhat more difficult to form. Grade 50 is more difficult to cold work, but can be successfully bent or shaped but requires more force than plain carbon steel. Standard:ASTM A572 ASTM A572 Steel - Ultra-High Strength - CopperloyA572 Grade 50 has a 139% greater Yield Strength than A36 steel. A572 steel does not require preheat or post heating during the welding process and standard AWS D1.1 welding standards apply. Higher grades of steels will require preheating which is not economical compared to savings in weight.
Owing to its high strength of 50,000 ksi yield strength, A572-50 steel I sections are increasingly replacing common carbon steel beam like A36 which should be thicker to satisfy the strength requirement. ASTM 572 Steel I section is available in other grades like 42, 55 & 60. Please find the specific chemical components in the table below. ASTM A572 Steel Channel - High StrengthASTM A572 is a high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel with alloy content of columbium and Comparing Steel Plate Grades - Continental SteelA572 GR 50:This steel has a 50,000 psi minimum strength level offering a combination of high strength along with formability and is very weldable. This steel is frequently used in applications such as pressure vessels and boilers. It also achieves successful results when used
Steel shapes ordered to this technical bulletin shall conform to the following:1. Meet all requirements of ASTM A572/A572M-94c Standard Specification for High-Strength Low-Alloy Columbium-Vanadium Structural Steel Grade 50; 2. The steel shall be made to a practice producing nitrogen not greater than 0.012% or steel shall be made to a Steel Reference Guide - Glosser Steelbolted, or welded construction, and for general structural purposes. This specification has a similar yield strength but higher tensile strength than A572 due to the addition of copper and slightly higher carbon content.
